NEN Events
Last year the NEN held the unprecedented first ever Neighborhood Empowerment Summit at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in September. Attendees loved the energy of the event, but wanted to be able to dig deeper into the subject areas presented. In response to this feedback the NEN will host at least two topic specific Summits.
Upcoming Event:
The 2008 NEN Awards
A key piece of feedback from last year’s summit attendees was that one of their favorite components of the experience was the ability to socialize and network with other community minded people. So this year we’re going to do an event which makes just that its sole goal. The 2008 NEN Awards will be an evening event at City Hall which will celebrate the best of the neighborhood building movement. There will be a huge resource fair for attendees to connect with agencies and non-profits looking to partner with them and a evening closing awards ceremony acknowledging the individuals and organizations which are setting the standard for community building in San Francisco. The tentative date for this event is on September 18th.

NEN Event: Community Day at Victory Garden
The Neighborhood Empowerment Network, Slow Food Nation and the Sustainable Living Roadshow were proud to host the first ever "Community Day at the San Francisco Victory Garden" on Saturday, August 16th from 10am to 4pm. This family oriented event provided a once in a life time opportunity to learn more about the Victory Garden movement as well as enjoy classic carnival style games that make learning about sustainability fun!
