Mayor London N. Breed and Supervisor Catherine Stefani invite you to commemorate the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake and celebrate San Francisco’s resilience on October 17, 2019 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the Marina Green

 

Mayor London N. Breed, Supervisor Catherine Stefani, and the Loma Prieta Earthquake 30th Anniversary Commemoration committee welcomes all San Franciscans to remember the most damaging earthquake to strike our City in the last century.

 

Set in the Marina District, the birthplace of San Francisco’s Neighborhood Emergency Response Team, this family-friendly gathering will feature a resource fair with emergency preparedness training, a display of modern and vintage fire trucks, and an earthquake simulator.  

 

At 5:04 p.m., the exact time of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, Mayor Breed and Supervisor Stefani will conduct a commemoration ceremony to remember those who lost their lives and honor those who courageously fought to protect our neighborhoods 30 years ago.

 

Please join us from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the west end of the Marina Green on San Francisco’s northern waterfront.

 

The day’s official schedule (subject to change) is:

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Resource Fair Vendors / Simulator / Fire Trucks arrive and set up

3:00 PM  – Resource Fair Opens

4:30 PM – 5:15 PM: Ceremony

6:00 PM: Resource Fair Concludes
