  • You are over 18 years of age
  • You are a resident in Districts 2,7,8 or 11
  • You reside on the block that is being submitted as the location of the block party
  • To the best of you knowledge, the street meets the requirements for a block party permit as determined by the SFMTA in that it is a residential block with no more than one lane of traffic in each direction and its closure will not impact transit, metered parking, or emergency services and be admission free and open to the neighborhood.
    • NOTE: The final determination of your block’s eligibility will be made by the SFMTA during the permit review process which occurs once you have completed the Neighborfest Host Application.

Application Process Overview:

Step 1: Complete the Neighborfest Host Pre-Application Survey – if you have received the link to this page you have completed this step already

    • NOTE: If you have NOT completed the 2022 Neighborfest Pre-Application Survey – then please do not proceed with completing the application below and contact Daniel.Homsey@SFGOV.org or neighborfest@livablecity.org for assistance.

Step 2: Submit a completed Block Party Application at least 6 weeks prior to the event date that includes the following:

      • Event details such as the types of activities, food service and entertainment you plan to provide your guests

      • Please remember the following:
        • The street closure must be free and open to the neighborhood, no sale of goods or services is permitted
        • You must maintain a 14 foot wide open lane through your event for emergency response vehicles and neighbors cars trying to access their driveway
        • There are strict guidelines regarding allowable activities and food.  Please carefully read the guidance in the survey regarding these event details to ensure that you will not need to secure additional permits which are not covered by this program and are the hosts responsibility
